When our taxi driver took us from Amman to the King Hussein Bridge border crossing with Israel we saw a sign pointing toward a road that would lead to Saudi Arabia.

Jordan was mostly desert, but there was the occasional town or building that we saw on our way from Amman to Wadi Musa.
