The Temple of Heaven looked just like I’d seen it in pictures, but I wasn’t expecting to see so many interesting things going on when we got past the ticketing area, before we arrived at the Temple of Heaven buildings. In the mornings, people all over Beijing do some form of exercise. There’s a wide variety of different activities on offer. If you’re not interested in Chinese history or in seeing the architecture at the Temple of Heaven, that’s fine, but you should still go to the Temple of Heaven in the morning to see the locals do their AM exercise.
