In most cities across the world, there are people that will come up to your car to try and wash the windows while you’re waiting at a stop light, or even just stuck in traffic. Johannesburg was no exception. Moments before this video was taken, a man had run up to our car with a bottle of water and a rag to try and wash our windows just as the light we were stopped at was turning green. Before visiting South Africa, John had read about car jackings and watched some videos online so he knew what they looked like. Besides the fact that he didn’t want the windshield washed at that time, when John saw the man coming up to our car he thought it looked like a car jacking, so he quickly drove off (with the windshield wipers still up). It bothered him a lot how similar car jackings and window-washings look.
