The streets in Guanajuato aren’t laid out in a grid. Rather, they were built according to the way the water flowed down the mountains through the city. I’m still trying to understand how the city works…there isn’t a single stop light here (in a city with 171,000 inhabitants), but traffic isn’t really a big problem except in the city center where the streets are narrow and there are tons of pedestrians all the time. This video takes us from the city limits all the way to our vacation rental where “Gerardo” greets us and shows us around. And the cats get to take a stretch before we lug them up to the 3rd floor apartment overlooking the city.
